Dr Joanne Charlwood
Joanne has more than 20 years experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with specialism in the area of respiratory diseases. She holds a first class BSc degree from Imperial College London and a PhD in biochemistry from The Institute of Child Health, London. After a post-doctoral research position at SmithKline Beecham, Joanne joined GSK as a senior scientist in the analytical chemistry group and was later appointed pre-clinical safety representative for several global project teams. She joined Novartis in 2009 as Associate Director of Project Management, with oversight of multiple respiratory projects within the company portfolio, and gained her Project Management Professional (PMP) certification at that time. In 2014 Joanne became the Head of R&D Respiratory Programs at the mid-sized biotech company hVIVO, following which she joined Takeda as Project Leader for rare disease projects in the Centre of External Innovation. Joanne was appointed Project Director at Enterprise Therapeutics in 2019.
